Deer Valley Resort Restaurant Advice

by Robin Rutecki

The ski vacation has evolved substantially from the no frills mountain adventures most common in the 1970s and 80s. All resorts across Colorado, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming have been in a quiet race to craft the perfect vacation experience.

Ski resorts have expanded the overall size and quality of their facilities, increased levels of service, and focused on the quality of their restaurants and shopping. Ski Magazine readers consistently rate Vail in Vail, Colorado and Deer Valley in Park City, Utah as the #1 and #2 resorts in the U.S.A. and Canada. Vail Resort held the #1 spot in 2000, 2002, 2003, and 2006. Deer Valley Resort won the honors in 2008, 2007, 2005, and 2001.

Many vacationers to the resort town of Park City Utah ask the question, “How do I find a place to stay”? While Park City does have a few brand name hotels like Marriott and Best Western, the majority of accommodations are made up of privately owned rentals.

Property management companies offer these privately owned residences for nightly rental. You may also be able to rent directly through an individual homeowner but this can be slightly riskier for the consumer. There are also central reservations agencies and private booking companies who contract with management companies and usually take a commission of up to 25% for the service. Since the property manager has to pay a commission to the booking agency, sometimes you can get a better deal if you contact the property manager directly.

This is the term commonly used when a soldier is discharged from the military based on the effects of the Lautenberg Amendment as it pertains to domestic violence misdemeanors and the possession of a firearm. What is the Lautenberg Amendment? How does it effect military personnel, and regular citizen’s rights to possess a firearm?

More than 20 Ways to Lose your License

by Josh McDowell

As anyone who has lost their license can attest, the privilege to drive is something many of us take for granted. All fifty States have a Governmental Department (such as the Department of Motor Vehicles) that monitors driving privileges, and has the ability to suspend or revoke driving privileges.

In December of 1975, the great Paul Simon released one of his biggest hits, “50 Ways to Leave you Lover”. It hit number one on the billboard charts in February of the following year. It has been covered many times, in several different languages, including by the Muppets Floyd and Janice.

How to Beat a Colorado DUI

by Brad Laybourne

If you have been issued a ticket for drunk driving in Colorado, either for a DUI (driving under the influence), or for a DWAI (driving while ability impaired), you need to be aware that based on the facts of your case there may be a way to improve you chances in court, or even beat the case entirely.

First, the police officer needs a valid reason to stop you or otherwise contact you in the first place. If they did not have a reason to contact you, their case won’t get very far. Police are not allowed to stop any car on the road, they must have reasonable suspicion to stop you.
