For The Best Banff Travel Deals, Banff Hotels And Activities, Here Are My Recommendations
By Jorge Pensinita
Seeing that I regularly travel to Banff, Alberta, I should be able to assist you in choosing the best Banff Travel Deal, Banff Hotel or Activity. I usually travel to Lake Louise or Banff in the winter, seeing as I am an avid skier. Either way, the resort is in operation all year round and it is always a good time to enjoy the Canadian lifestyle. You have definitely come to the right place if you are seeking information on the some of North America’s top golf and ski resorts.
The town of Banff is located one hour west of Calgary, Alberta. In the area within Banff are three ski areas: Lake Louise, Sunshine and Norquay. All of these mountains are within a one hour drive from the town center. There are many golf courses in the area, with the most famous of which being the Fairmont Banff Springs course as well as Kananaskis. If you are seeking a winter or summer holiday, there is usually great travel deals to take advantage of in Banff.
Below is a list of my top 4 favorite luxury hotels in Banff and available Banff deals.
1. Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel: If you stay 4 nights, you will only pay for 3 nights. You will also get an additional $100 Food and Beverage Credit if you book by November 16, 2009. Stay at the famous Fairmont Banff Springs for your next vacation and enjoy free nights!
2. Rimrock: Rated 5 Stars and the only four diamond restaurant in Banff. Great for great for kids because it is located right across the street from Banff hot springs and they have an ice rink for their guests over the winter period. 20% off all stays after December 23, 2009 must be booked by Nov 15, 2009.
3. The Fox: I would strongly recommend The Fox if you are seeking a moderately priced accommodation for your Banff holiday. This property is quite modern and is great for romantic getaways or family winter vacations. This is also one of the few properties in Banff offering 2 bedroom suites.
4. Hidden Ridge. For a relatively inexpensive accommodation in Banff, I would suggest travelers to check out this property located in Tunnel Mountain. The suites at this property included large flat screen televisions, wood burning fireplaces, private balconies, full kitchens and are very spacious. Discounted lift tickets and activities will also be offered by select tour operators. This will usually only occur if you book a hotel package with them. Lift tickets are valid at any of the three mountains and is generally the best deal.
Aside from skiing, Banff has many great activities in which to partake. One such activity is dog sledding. This is beginning to gain alot of interest from not only domestic, but also international travelers. This activity takes you into Alberta’s backcountry with a team of well trained dogs, allowing you to experience a very traditional Canadian adventure in the outback. A few other interesting activities are also heli skiing, ice walks, snowmobiling, ice fishing, sleigh rides as well as ice climbing.
Banff is also a great summer destination. Aside from world class golf resorts, which are plentiful, you can also partake in activities such as fishing, whitewater rafting and ziptreking to name a few. Banff nature trips are also very interesting. Here you can see such wildlife as wolves, rams, eagles, mountain lions and even grizzly bears.
Banff is a great all season resort, regardless of what you ultimately decide to do. I have yet to experience all Banff has to offer, but I have certainly done most of the activities and can fairly comment and advise as to the highlights. You will be impressed with the diversity and what the area has to offer no matter what you choose.
